Single- and Multi-Engine Aircraft for Sale: Which of These is Better?

However, it’s not entirely dangerous to fly a multi-engine plane at all. The newer engines of today are designed to be practically immune to mechanical failure, and in the hands of an experienced and skilled pilot, planes like these are also perfectly safe. Also, the main reason behind the development of multi-engine planes was fairly simple: added power. There’s rarely a single-engine plane that can outrun a multi-engine aircraft, as well as carry as much cargo and passengers without a hitch. People intently looking at either a conventional, propeller-driven plane or a newer jet for sale are sure to be a bit confused with choosing which variant would suit their ends. But both single-engine and multi-engine configurations have their own upsides and downsides, and the final decision lies with the buyers themselves.
